As people have mentioned, there are some outrageous bargains around when you go for some of the older TKM chassis, could this be a possible entry level series?
Are they no longer allowed in TKM due to safety? Technology?
If people could get hold of a 'usable' kart that is deemed race-worthy by scrutineers for just a few hundred pounds, this could be a huge introduction class.
I have an old (I think around 1999) Venom TKM that I got for a bargain, mechanically sound and with a little overhaul (nuts and bolts, brake bleed, brake pads, chain, plug, carb kit and up to date chain guard) I have a great fun and very affordable kart. And in all honesty, the relatively small amount slower it is than a Rotax (for example) is by far over-shadowed by the fact that to buy and overhaul the kart cost me less than many (/most) serious Rotax drivers spend in maintenance and tyres in a weekend!!
Pardon my ignorance with the homologation and MSA etc, I am currently just driving at local track open days rather than MSA racing.
