Maybe I'm being naive...but - I thought the honest and decent licenced Rotax FR125 rebuilders could and would only put an engine together made of standard unmodified parts with standard unmodified gaskets so could not adjust squish UNLESS he selected parts with particular dimensions to give a particular result???? Hence the term FICHE (bring selected standard parts together in the best way to combine manufacturing tolerances to come as close to the ideal as possible) and not BLUEPRINT (adjust to optimal manufacturing spec using methods including machining) or TUNE (Go beyond manufacturing spec tolerance with machining, materials upgrade etc to get best result for the specific application you need) In any case, IMHO the squish of the FR125 (over 1mm)is so far away from anything like a real performance 125cc engine tolerance (0.4 to 0.6mm depending on stroke, revs and quality of kit)that this was not the main improvement to focus on? If I'm wrong, and its OK to use gaskets of varying thickness, please tell me as I must be missing a trick here !
