Graham, Thanks for the reply. Now that I know how to have a voice beyond here, I certainly will. We are new to karting this year, so I just don't know the structure of the legislative, organisational and representative bodies- its been a vertical enough learning curve to pick up the class rules and regs, set up and maintenance, get all the bits together, and help my sons with driving techniques and preparation etc. With the above, plus the Rotax clutch, barrel, grease issues etc etc, did we just pick a bad time to start, or is it always like this on four wheels?! It amazes me - when we raced MX with the ACU, undoubtedly a significantly more dangerous sport, and with racers much younger than currently in karting, it was so simple and relaxed... Gold sticker on your helmet, decent boots, bike in fair order - off you go and race... and we could easily have competed at top national level for the cost of competing clubbies in karting... But when the dream is four wheels, its four wheels or nothing.
