Jon I think you are spot on - it is the smaller drivers who are the problem but it must be difficult for the MSA to target just the specific problem group. If they say all cadtes hten that makes it very easy to monitor - cadet kart / CMR helmet - easy. The only snag is that there will be cadets racing who are bigger than drivers in junior classes so you can see the arguaments in scrutineering - if xx helmet is safe for him whay is it not safe for my driver? Age would be a difficult one to use and subject to the same sort of debate. maybe a height limit could work - bit like a theme parks, if you are under this height you must were the CMR. trouble is you either do this on the grid or have to call them all in to scrutineering. Then you start looking at measuring the kids heads but that could also be a nightmare. At the end of the day this is probably a good move that will be difficult to introduce without upsetting quite a few people BUT now is the time to put pen to paper or finger to keyboard and make your views known to the MSA/ABkC.
