Hi all, this is my first attempt at posting on the notice board so please bear with me.

I only kart for fun, and over the years have gained a number of old Parilla TT27 engines and hoped someone out their might be able to help with a couple of queries.

Question 1)
I generally run NGK Plugs, heat grade 10 or 9 (dependent on weather conditions) but Im not sure if I should be running a basic B10EG or BR10EG (where the R denotes a resistor plug). Ive read the Maintaining 100cc Kart Engines book by Philippe Evrard several times, and in there he refers to Not using Resistor Plug Caps as they cause a reduction in spark intensity, however is this also true of resistor plugs?

Question 2)
A number of my cylinders are looking a little glazed and Ive been considering purchasing a flexi-hone to remove the glaze and improve oil retention. Im satisfied with the actual bore diameters etc, as Im only using the engines for fun and not searching for ultimate performance. My question however is what grit value hone should I use? A lot of general automotive applications use 120 grit, but this seems a little cause for a kart engine.

Also just out of interest, should you use a different grit value for Nikasil plated cylinders?

Many thanks,

Keith
