Alloy rims will heat up a lot quicker because they hold a lot more air than mag. So in theory alloy should be the choice to have come winter low track temperatures etc....... . What mag rims do you have? when i ran a v4 i used douglas rims just the ordinary not low volume type and they were great:} kart always handled well, but biggest improvement i ever found was seat tillet t11vg worth every penny. I would of ran the kart 10mm spacer at the front with intrepid l90 hubs and 10mm in from the end of the axle with short hubs on rear with a jkh medium compound axle.
