The WTP has to be restricted to make it a bit slower than the comer as the comer is the official British championship engine (same with the easykart cadet engine and probably Honda). At most circuits the comer will therefore be quicker and take the podium places and this tends to make it the main choice. WTP is a good class and LGM a good series but it is difficult to build up the numbers to a point where you also get good grids at clubs around the country. Unfortunately there is also an element of the `cheque book racing' creeping in although to a much less extent than with comer. For instance, you can buy the Iztech/Tillet type of lightweight, flexible seats and floor trays and some people have several engines to use depending on the track. Easykart is probably the best series from a cost and equipment eqality perspective but not for anyone who is more interested in club racing. At least there are a range of options available with something for everyone.
