I wouldn't say they are all the same, but they are a lot closer, our biggest problem this year was down to the new "gold" coloured reed cages, which work fine when they're new.Wish I'd listened more to my son when he kept telling me that the engine just didn't pull well low down,as I just put it down to me not being able to jet & gear it correctly.I eventually took the engine to my engine builder who at that time had only just recently become aware of a problem with the new reed cages, he removed the cage to look at the reeds, and sure enough one half of the reeds were wide open,so out of interest we put it back together then tested it on the dyno, & it didn't even make 18hp, we then put back on the original older type of reed cage, & hey presto over 20hp, & the best he's seen of the new '09 barrels has made just over 21hp, so on that basis I feel they are closer.
