well ASSUMING that the new tkm tyres will act like the rotax and blue tyres, it will let the kart release from the corner better so it wont bog down...thats the main advantage. the main disadvantage is lack of adjustability in the wet, you wont be able to move the rear wheels in as far as the 30mm axle in the wet. also the wet tyres arent changing so should be more suited to the 30mm axle.
of course this isnt takin into account the cost. if you switch to 50mm you will need new hubs, bearings, carriers, sprocket and brake carrier, and im not sure but maybe new rear wheels...im not sure if wheels designed for the 30mm axle will fit on a 50mm axle because of stud spacing, hopefully someone will be able to advise in that one?!!!
all in all if you buuy new stuff it will cost around 250 quid to get all the stuff for a 50mm axle if you buy new
