Just seen this quote... But after softening his stance over the summer as it became clear that Doningtons funding plans were increasingly precarious, Ecclestone now says he is pleased a British race will be remaining on the calendar although he insists he didnt agree to a deal with Silverstone out of sentimentality.
The fact is Bernie (I know you subscribe to this) is that you will get 2 or 3 hundred thousand people attending Silverstone (or indeed any other UK track for a GP) all of whom could never dream of the money you earn and many of which will have to save to pay for the weekend. Sentimentality has nothing to do with it...if it wasn't for the Brits, you wouldn't have the sport which has made you such a wealthy man. Try to say something that the British fans appreciate for once!!!
