I can understand the appeal of the Dadson challenge for older drivers. It caters for a certain class of driver which isn't catered for in MSA racing. As Danny pointed out to me when I was starting karting, "we cater for the old not the fat".
We now have Super 1 creating a 177 Masters class for the over 35 and Dadsons doing a minimax challenge.
I find it hard to see what benefit these two new championship classes bring to Karting. I can see the attraction of increased revenue for the organisers, but its at the expense of clubs.
Clubs are struggling with dwindling numbers and now we have two more championships to potentially reduce numbers even more.
It would be very interesting to see how these fit into the MSA master plan for karting. There have been lots of comments previously about too many classes in Karting, what do others think, does Karting need another traveling junior championship. Does it bring anything to Karting which isnt being offered elsewhere.
