Personal attacks on me have no relevance to the S1 series, and I respond in the same way that you would no doubt if someone said something about you that was not true... to correct misinformation. The alternative is I say nothing and allow people to libel me: not acceptable.

I'm not sure what I have said in any other posting that could be construed in any way other than a positive response to try and answer queries and complaints, and to set out exactly what others can expect from me.

Was there something specific that was atrocious PR in the Motors series? The fact that every driver had my telephone number and could call me to discuss anything up to midnight every day, 7 days a week? The fact that I spent over �5,000 on hog roasts during the season in an attempt to bring everyone together at each round? I think what you are actually saying is that you had a complaint and it did not go your way, and I spent much of my time responding to complaints/postings on this site, the exact thing that S1 have been accused of not doing.

I will always give an honest response to anyone who contacts me by phone, email, letter, or who posts something on this site. People usually say that's what they want.... but in reality they often don't like it when their view is challenged. I am not a shrinking violet. I have strong opinions, make them known and always make considered responses. If there is something specific I have posted here that could be construed as poor PR, then I am happy for you to point it out. Most of my postings have been saying what everyone can expect from me, why we are doing things in the way we are, what I can offer to drivers in terms of my support etc. You suggest that by responding to whiners I give them credibility. I clearly do not share that view: my view is that not to respond gives them credibility.

We may have to agree to disagree, but I appreciate your final paragraph, which demonstrates that on balance you support me, so thankyou for that. I hope to see you again this season.
