"Look carefully at every posting, and on balance you will see an effort to set out in a clear and concise way what I intend to deliver" - Thats the problem though Alan, almost no one looks at postings closely, no matter what you actually meant, no matter how true what you're saying is, the only thing that comes across to people is their inital reaction. If you're in a position of responsibility (I.e. involved in Super1 or the head of a race series) you can't get away with saying things that maybe I or someone else can.
If I was anyone else, then you'd have put me off the series by saying that 'I was only saying this because I had a complaint that didn't go my way' Something which clearly isn't true!! It doesn't bother me but that kind of stuff can make some people VERY angry. Maybe that surprises you, I don't know. And you said this to ME (someone with no real grievance with you, and actually being positive about the idea of the tv cameras). What you would say to someone who didn't like the idea of having TV cameras I don't know! You need to convince the doubters, not make them even more angry!
You may 'agree to disagree' Alan, but if you 'agree to disagree' with the majority of people then you've got a lot of people disgreeing with you!! (Lets face it, if you have to 'agree to disagree' with someone who likes the s1 series, agrees with the tv cameras, and agrees with the extra price that comes with it...then you have problems!)
You may impress some with the 'give as good as you get' attitude, but how many will enter because of it? Not many, I doubt many people will enter a series specifically because of one prson's attitude. But they sure might leave the series because of it!! Do not make the same mistake as Motors TV, unlike you I have the benefit of hearing what the drivers in the motors tv paddock were saying. You may think that a few good comebacks in real life or a few messages on Karting.co.uk won't mean much...but it does!
This will be an amazing year for Super1, Tv coverage and all. It's not too much more money considering, and the elephant in the room is driving standards actually being properly looked into!! You'd potentially save money on bent axles and general damage. Lets not spoil it with some ill-thought postings eh? :)
