I have the following observations after running at Whilton;
- My tyres were fine even on the warm-up lap. I'd done about 2 hours of running on them before the meeting, so maybe this helps matters. I'll have a new set for the next meeting so maybe I'll see the problem then.
- I warmed my tyres up very agressively on the warm-up lap, which I'd never bothered with before. I had plenty of grip once the race started, but again that may be because these tyres had already been well scrubbed in.
- Lots of people were going off on the warm-up lap, which I've never seen before. However there were lots of drivers I didn't recognise, so they either didn't know the circuit, or had switched from a track with grippier tyres.
- We had 3 or 4 warm-up laps before most heats due to false starts, which didn't seem to make much difference, so I don't think giving 2 warm-up laps would help.
