Before you can get a drivers association you need the people to realise, understand or believe that the governing body is ruining the sport.
At the moment you only have people moaning on random subjects. Things like banning chassis protectors, cadet nose-cones, number of classes etc. still have people for and against. Most importantly, the majority don't care at all because it doesn't effect them.
When enough of them realise that their governing body isn't working then you can form a drivers association. However it will not solve the problem.
The governing body should be there to serve the interests of the people. If the people realise that it isn't fulfilling that roll, then setting up another body to police the first body that you set up is madness.
