It still sounds a lot more effort than is needed. The wheel,chain and chain guard have to come off anyway but it is the easy to undo the sprocket and bolt on a new one. That way you do not have to take off the hub and the carrier will still be alligned to the engine sprocket. You can buy a quick release sprocket carrier for about �90. We looked at it as it takes only a few seconds to change a sprocket but saving maybe a minute a few times a day did not sound worth while. Pity you switched from a BRM to a Storm as I believe the BRM is a better chassis but done now. I really think the best thing you can do is go to your local track and talk with one of the other dads who runs a storm. Compare notes on what you are doing compared to them. There is probably a simple answer but difficult to know what it might be without seeing the set-up.
