The MSA couldn't have messed this up worse if they tried. It makes no sense on so many levels. If their objective was to alienate the existing driver base and make it very difficult for newcomers, they've succeeded on both counts.
o It introduces more classes at a time when we need less. o It mixes physical attributes [height/weight] with age. A blind man at night could see that such an inconsistency will lead to people have no class to race in. o Its very confusing. Tell me how you would explain 'starting kart racing' to a prospective junior and their parents. o Its adds to costs by bouncing drivers from one class to the next in very short time frames.
Will the people who run our sport wake up and realize that they are here to serve us, their licence holders. Before considering, let alone effecting, changes such as these, they need to consult directly with the ultimate stakeholders, the drivers.
I'm extremely disappointed with this disgraceful debacle.
