Hi, Took our son out in his tonykart at Beccles for first time yesterday and even though the rear stub axles had been tightened up, one of the rear wheel's came off (complete with stub axle) going round a corner. Thankfully he is ok, however, upon checking the 'genuine' OTK rear axle, I note that at the end of the axle where the 2 peg holes are drilled, the peg hole nearest the edge of the axle is actually drilled into the edge of the axle . The other end of the axle has the furthest (outer) hole drilled and then at least 5 MM of axle before the edge. The peg seemed to fit in and stay in, but I wondered can anyone advise if this is normal. Reason for asking is I'm not sure if the stub axle had actually been tightened enough, or the fact that the incomplete outer drilled hole could in anyway cause the stub axle to come off.
For info, I also have a pattern axle and both outer holes on it have a further 5mm before the edge lip of the axle.
Apologies for length of thread and the question, but we are new to karting and I want to ensure all is safe for next time for my son.
Thanks
