The improvements in power gained from head-work are pretty small compared to what COULD be extracted if you were allowed to do other work.
However, be sensible..... the TKM crank and whole bottom-end was designed for the 16 or so bhp available from a legal engine. If you were able to boost the power significantly...... I doubt that the bottom end could tolereate it.
TKM is quite well thought out for limited power racing. Personally, I'd prefer to see it allowing blue-printing and that would make all engines more-equal for less cost. Even then, there is (in my opinion) a VASTLY smaller power difference between a standard and MAGNIFICENT TKM than there is between a standard and MAGNIFICENT Rotax. I'd do the same to Rotax and DEFINITELY to cadets...... the prices being quoted for some of those things is laughable. Blue printing would put and END to that sort of SH**!
