They recommend 13/84
Here's a quick table for you
Drive Driven Ratio (to 1) 13 80 = 6.15 13 81 = 6.23 13 82 = 6.31 13 83 = 6.38 13 84 = 6.46 13 85 = 6.54 13 86 = 6.62 12 80 = 6.67 13 87 = 6.69 12 81 = 6.75 13 88 = 6.77 12 82 = 6.83 13 89 = 6.85 12 83 = 6.92 13 90 = 6.92 12 84 = 7.00 12 85 = 7.08 12 86 = 7.17 12 87 = 7.25 12 88 = 7.33 12 89 = 7.42 12 90 = 7.50
Print-out the table, it will be useful for you for the future.....
I have sorted them into the HIGHEST gearing to the Lowest gearing. That 'randomises' the sequence of drive and driven gears but gives you a pretty good 'smooth' chnage of ratios.
Huxley ********
I think your '3 teeth' estimate quite far adrift.
Look at the gears:- 12-83 and 13-90... they both give a rough ratio as 6.92:1. That would seem to show that it's nearer to SEVEN teeth than 3 teeth!
I think you are missing the fact that our 'pitch' (effectively, the size of the gap between two teeth) is MUCH smaller than on your bikes and that increases the number of teeth we use in a similar sized sprocket!
