Hi Mark
Not strictly true, both the engines I used last year were new last year; and I haven't really seen a huge difference in laptimes from last year to this year, 3-4 tenths, maybe 5 at a push...and that has come from the tyres! I do not know the weight difference in the engines; but to be honest, If you are running any sort of ballast on the kart (which 80% of KZ2 drivers would be) I don't think any additional mass would be a significant problem. I understand that higher CoG is not ideal, but engines need strength sometimes which can require larger wall thickness' etc. I would agree if the crank was 3 kg different; but I'm sure that isn't the case. Good luck with it; but my experience on a Vortex was enough thanks.
