first off where are you based??? that will largely determine your class, i ran in tkm for about 2500 quid last year, which is average for tkm, you can spend more or less, that included rebuilds, tyres, testing, race entry, spares etc. engines are rebuilt at 4 hours for the mains and seals....which is cheep and can bedone yourself and between 8-10 hours for main rebuild at 200-250 quid, i think rotax is at about 20 hours (although ive heard can go longer) and can range between 6-800. tyres in tkm seem to last longer, i got 3-4 meetings and practice days out of each set that i had, while the vegas in rotax didnt last that long, although they are switching tyres next year. rotax is more expensive to buy in the first place too. horses for courses tho, both classes have advantages and disadvantages, im sure some rotax bod will come preaching in a minute, i thought id come and preach tkm first tho LOL..
