The fact that they differ is the very point. To say that the K98 is better than the K27 is not a fact but the opinion of the masses who use a K98 because 'everyone else does' The truth being the K98 may well be the best to use in many cases hence the masses using them BUT in sum cases the K27 is the correct needle to use. For example a driver reports that when using a K98 and lets say a 165 main jet the kart is good at the top end of the rev range but is a little weak lower down it would be the correct move to go to the K27 which will richen the mixture accross the first 3/4 of the rev range leaving the top end as it was. This would be the a better route than just banging a 165 in and changing the entire range. Therefore the answer to fatkartman's original question is the K27 is effectively richer througout the first 75% of the throttle opening and virtually matches the K98 up to 95% and is exactly the same at 100%. I am sure John will correct me on this theory and figures if I am in error. Eh John? BTW. Happy New Year to all, anyone seen Itpro???
