" The reason for no overlap is because the Vega wet is much quicker than the Mojo wet, so it wouldn't be fair to mix them. This was clearly expressed in the October ABkC newsletter. In general the ABkC prefers to have an overlap so that drivers can use up their old rubber. As to the slicks, there is a two month overlap and the tyres are very close in performance, possibly closer than variations in the old tyres batches. Any club wishing to change the regulations must apply to the MSA for a KTE (Kart Technical Exemption). The MSA would then consult with the ABkC. At this moment in time, NO CLUBS have been granted a KTE to amend the published Rotax regulations. There are still plenty Vega tyres in stock as well. "
