We can compete at the front of the pack along with the big teams at our local tracks, we can match or beat there times and this is using a four year old chassis and a 600 engine. Part of the reason for considering investing in a new chassis is because we have got this far on good well prepared equipment by never with equal or newer kit .
On the Gillard, in my experience rarely can you find a highly competitive chassis design from scratch without a huge amount of luck or an even greater amount of testing and development. I have no doubts about Gillards ability to do this in time by I am not aware of them doing the amount of testing and development that would have been needed in all conditions and with varying levels of driver ability. My assumption is therefore that they have designed and built a chassis using sound design principles and are looking to develop it as they go along. For us this is a high risk and with only one year left in cadets it would be a silly mistake unless there was a high probability of success and at this stage that is probably not the case.
