I am out of ideas and need some advice. I have been having some running issues, which I feel have been sorted and then they return.

Spark and then no spark, I have checked the earth's and put new spade connectors on all the wires, changed spark plug and swaped over to a spare coil.
The only wires I have not checked are the ones coming from the engine, how can I check these for breaks without striping the wires? Can these be replaced?

Carb adjustment, I am happy with my settings i.e. high and low settings, but I am puzzled as to why the adjustment screw that you turn to adjust the speed of the tickover is at its full travel, the only way I can get anywhere near a tickover is to give it a little throttle and hold it there, the screw it about 2mm away from the throttle arm, suggestions please.
I am not looking for a tickover but want it to run a little fast as its direct drive.
