Type A helmets are still legal at European and International level, let alone virtually every other country in Europe. But not for a UK club race, explain that.
The constant, how much do you value your head argument, now adapted to how much do you value your child, has always been marketing bull. There is no evidence anacdotal or otherwise that kids wearing non CMR helmets are any less safe than those with a CMR.
Helmets are scrutineered for damage and rejected, yet the same helmet can be taken home, filled, given a fancy paint job and be back on the track the next week.
Safety arguments are great when it creates profit, but overlooked when it might limit it.
The whole thing, like most things in karting is blatant commercialism and profiteering.
