The answer is simple but, sadly, not all that helpful. The answer is: 'as light as possible'.
If you are underweight, you are probably under-height as well. You get the benefits of less drag and a lower CofG if you need it.
If you are underweight, YOU can choose where to put the lead. Us fatties, can't!
It's possible that the world's most skillful drivers are all midget-runts: good quality driving MAY be linked to being TINY...... however.... I just don't believe it..... and yet all the best F1 drivers are MICROSCOPIC (except Webber..... and is he one of the BEST?).
I don't think runts ARE naturally better at drivin: they are just LIGHTER and there seems to be a HUGE benefit to being tiny..... hence F1 drivers being able to walk UNDER hurdles without bending......
