As far as the engines are concerned there's nothing in it now so other factors have to be taken in to consideration for making the choice. DD - simple, reliable, very little to go wrong but will require a push to start. Check at the track you intend to race at that they do allow pushers on track during race day. Of our local clubs (rissy, kim, whilton) rissy and kim do allow pushers on race day, whilton dont. Thus we dont race at whilton despite it being only 10 minutes from home.
Clutch - Slightly more to go wrong than DD. Clutch does not ensure engine will continue running in a spin off. Will need starter to restart on track (often not out there). Gearing needs to be set at chosen track to ensure clutch does not disengage in slow corners. Having to re-engange clutch (buid revs) could cost a 1/10 or two.
Tag - a lot to go wrong and as yet I dont feel all the issues with loom etc have been totally sorted. That said more of them are appearing on the grids.
If you can get a ride in both DD and clutched its worth it before making decision. In the end I went for DD due to very high reliability. To finish first, first you have to finish.
