Great race to watch, fantastic drive and lap record really sets the bar high. Well done Simon.
From a more personal note I'd like to congratulate my son Kyle (No 24) on a fabulous weekend, where he achieved a personal best of 37.35secs in the final. I think he's now coming of age as a young karter, he's just getting better and better.
It should also be noted that there were some potentially serious overtaking moves, blocks, and deliberate take outs by some of the young drivers which went unobserved by track officials and unpunished by the COC. I know of two young drivers which have been banned from the track but I believe this was for actions after an incident and not for the on track incident itself. The more they get away with it the more often it will be repeated by the offenders, and if the innocent parties don't see action by the officials, next time on the track it just manifests into blatent revenge. I as a dad play some part in conditioning how my son behaves when driving and reacting to situations on track, and commend him for that, as in the not to distant past was at the receiving end of bullyboy tactics by an older junior. This meeting Kyle went out and showed most of them his heels, you should see how proud he is, in his words I'm a clean driver. In the same way some parents (and teams) condition thier sons and daughters to go out and win at all cost. They should remember what goes round eventually comes round! (It would seem it came back round for some this weekend)
I in no way condone this attitide but if the officials can't look after the interests of the majority from the gung ho win at all cost brigade justice is found in others ways.
