If you look at the history of 'deletions' by Dick and Martin, you'll see what is, 'de facto' the 'rule' about advertising.

1) Posting a direct 'advert' is frowned upon and often deleted.

2) Posting a reply about a question where that reply is from a manufacturer about their product is NOT usually deleted, so long as the reply can be seen as helpful and appropriate to the question and not just plain 'Buy my Kart'.

I have NEVER seen a reply by someone like Joh,n in the manner that he writes, be deleted for breaching advertising rules.

Perhaps you'd like to give a similar example that HAS been deleted.

...... however, I HAVE seen postings deleted where someone is telling us that they had a set of high performance engines that might be for sale......
