Hi all,
Ive been out of karting for almost 10 years when I last raced in 100 Nat/libre. Things have changed a fair bit. I'll be starting up in Rotax Max just to race at club level. I have a few questions if I could have some help?
1) I'm getting a good deal on a used Tonykart Evxx which has pretty mangled m3 bodywork but is in lovely overall condition. id like to replace it with the Stilo/New age bodywork, is this possible or would it need different bracketry?
2) The Max engine is a fair bit more complex looking than the simple push start 100cc rotaries I was running years ago. assuming I bought just a bare short engine, where would be the best place to get all the ancillaries like carbs/exhaust/battery etc? Also there seems to be new regs on clutch bearing O rings and airboxes. Is there anything else I need to know before I go racing?
3) Being on a small budget, I'd probably wouldn't be able to stretch to a spare engine. For racing is it a necessity ormisnthe reliability of rotax Msx engines good enough to risk a whole meeting/weekend on one unit?
Sorry for the seemingly dumb questions and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sam
