I'm mike Simpson snr, have been running my son Michael Simpson since 1991, and specifically running Rotax since 2000. Others on this website would verify the outstanding results he/we have achieved. I have for several years been preparing carburetors and have a customer base which stretches from Australia to USA, to most of Europe. I have not tailored this table for this thread, this is but a sample of the data i have.
Unlike modern karters who just turn up, pay and demand results, i am an engineer and old school who enjoys the research, lots of garage/computer/backroom work, and most importantly TESTING the equipment to get the optimum. Nothing is easy in motorsport, otherwise everyone would do it and the worth would be lost. just hard work and lots and lots of testing.
Oh nearly forgot UNDERSTANDING your subject. My jets were measured at 20 degree C, using UK pin gauges, as accurate as can be bought. i need to know jet sizes for 2 reasons, 1) so when i want to go richer or leaner i know what i have got. 2) there is no point back to back testing carburetors unless you know they all have the same sized jet installed.
