Thanks very much for you brilliant description, its abit daunting the first time so you're really helped me out... Yes i'll be getting a build to re-do the crank for me.
You mentioned a tiny spring, i have seen this spring it was i was having a look at the seal-it pretty much seemed to come out-is the spring part of the seal and sits just under the lip?
Its pretty hard trying to get info out of the propper engine mechanics-so i'll try my luck... I noticed sealant on the outer case but when i split it there was no sealant on the meeting faced or gasket where i thought there should be?-the engine was a previous project it looks very good but im not sure if when resealing a gasket should be used between the case halves on these motors?
I will be able to measure the float when i reassemble :)
