Never driven an Easykart, but Max and TKM Extreme aren't really different in difficulty of driving, but are really different to drive.
Max has more power than grip, TKM has more grip than power. This changes the required technique for getting a decent lap time.
The other thing that Rotax Max has is loads more things you can change in the chassis setup than TKM. Learning to set the kart up to work well is fairly fundamental to karting - as important as driving skill in my mind. I've never set up a Rotax chassis, but have done a few TKM now, and it can be hard work knowing what to try next, especially when you're new to it. I can imagine a Rotax being a little more difficult given the extra adjustments available.
