I'm not so sure the tyres are playing that big a part ..........I think the pace has naturally increased in TKM due to the amount of adjustments now at our disposal and the ability of people to get the best from the current equipment

...in 'the good old days' (old slicks)with homologated chassis, limited adjustments and a more level playing field regarding engines, I believe it was much more a case of driver ability whereas now that can be compensated for with changes to set up, magnesium this and cnc that......etc etc

of course the driver still has a big part to play and coupled with the right equipment, lap times will naturally come down, hence the reason why records are being broken fairly regularly

..only my thoughts!
