I took part in the OEKC last week, jumping in last minute to support AndyBs team.
It was my first endurance in a Rotax and Im now totally hooked, what a fantastic meeting it was. Very well run, sensible rules, extremely friendly, lots of help from competing teams if you had a problemfaultless.
The series is well established down South and those of us from up North are missing out unless you want an early start (I set off at 0345hrs) or camp overnight. AndyB is doing the right thing as a competing driver and looking for how much interest there is further up North and then work with the series organiser to try and make it happen.
Brian I see this as a different animal to EPEC and like you say, Andy has posted it on the 2 stroke board for a good reason although any recognised kart can take part (with laps credited as applicable), the grid only had Rotax for the meeting last week. I personally thought this was a good thing after my experience at the British 24hr where owner drivers and corporate karts were on the track at the same time my opinion is that it should have been run on two separate days as owner drivers were screwing up the corporate karts race and vice versa. If your son is still in the South with his Biland, ask him to attend a meeting and feed back Id like to think hed be able to change your perception.
And as for Whilton Mill what a fantastic circuit!
