my apologises if I have upset anyone, I think my posting is being misunderstood. I am not accusing ANY individual or ANY engine builder(though I do still have a T1 in my shed that I bought over 2 years ago brand new as a "fast" engine, that has never ben raced due to it having a manipulated crank,a skimmed head, and re-profiled valves and seats)
If no-one ever bent the rules we would not need scrutineers, however some do, and it should be yours,mine or anyone elses duty to let other people and scrutineers know, if they see or hear of things like this happening so that the scrutineers know what to look for. that was my only point, sorry if it sounded any other way.
We get accused almost weekly of cheating,to the point that we now get a scrutineer to build our engines, but even that only moved it on to something in our fuel, so we had our fuel tested at least 6 times in the last couple of months,then it was tyres so we have had the sniffer on them and the durometer last few races too,we have been pulled into scrutineering finishing about 15th because someone reported us as "going suspisciously fast!" but we have had only 1 exclusion and that was for not having our Iame logbook with us

People put messages on here about fraud or thefts, and if we (you or me) lose to someone who KNOWS they are running an illegal engine that to me is FRAUD at best, but considering the time and money we all put into letting our sons/daughters race then it is no better than them going into my wallet and stealing the �150 or whatever that the weekend has cost me and YOUR wallet too! and if it is an engine builder doing it then they are defrauding not only all the other competitors but as in my case even their own customers!
