NJB..... you misunderstand. We both know that one needs to spend (large amounts of) money to win, no matter how good you are. The only place where we disagree is what constitutes 'large amounts'. I suspect that what I (and HUNDREDS of other 'fathers') think is a 'large amount' differ from your meaning of 'large amounts'.

We are told that the amount of money that Mclaren may have invested in Lewis Hamilton's karting career was the 'small amount' (for them) of �1,000,000!!! I suspect that not even YOU think that WAS a 'small amount'.

I'd just like new dads to KNOW how much 'little Johnny's' racing career is going to cost them IF they are dreaming of him moving to open wheelers, next!

In truth, we DO strongly agree.... you don't get anywhere in karting without SIGNIFICANT expenditure.
