What ever you do, do not adjust the throttle stop on the carb it is not for controlling the throttle it's for controlling the butterfly rotation it must stop dead level/center. Once set it shouldn't need touching again. If you have one of two things will happen you will either lose your max revs as the butterfly won't open fully thus not allowing air through the venturi OR the butterfly will over rotate where your lad will when putting his foot down will get max revs but as he continues to do so the butterfly will continue to rotate and start to close again (over rotation) thus losing his top end Farrangs advise is well intended but in this case wrong/miss-guide. (No offence intended Farrang) Do not touch the cable adjuster on the carb!!
