We moved to honda 4 weeks ago for much the same reasons. The truth is the iame hasn't really taken off and the last remnants of the comer grids are now confined to the history books where we race. I along with the other chap Kezz mentioned found the iame to be too unpredictable and it's worth noting a few things. Firstly we all used different engine builders. Secondly we all experienced carb issues where seemingly others didn't. I found it to be a complete waste of time trying to race, knowing that once on the rolling up lap, no further changes were possible. Our only good experience on an iame came where we used someone else's, which clearly ran much better than ours. As someone else mentioned, a fixed jet slide carb would surely have been a better option. We would probably have persevered and spent some money on sorting things out but when there's no grids why bother? Moving to honda is hands down the best decision I've made since our bambino days. Big grids everywhere and now I can concentrate on set up and driving. I even had time to watch some of the other classes and my boy loves it.
