The elite of british karting are now doing standing starts.... Do they want a PR man? Seriously can someone please sort this cr..p out. It's a kart!!!!
I will spell it out how to solve many issues, seen as they clearly read forums and don't speak to those who have done karting for a while pre bodywork.
1) Small rear loop, - stops loading as you soon learn it hurts flipping and you lose time. This means cleaner starts and clesner racing!
2) remove the full chain gaurd. - if your dumb enough to pit fingers in there....they should be removed. It will also get damaged if you go with the loop rear bumper. So to save stress go back to the strip. It worked fine for 40 years, and also saves time when adjusting chain tension which means more social time and a better weekend
3) online arks pack with a online written arks test. Which you can then pay upfront and book for the practical arks test at a track. But the practical arks test must include a full days testing on track to give newbies value for money.
4) no pg license. If you misbehave your kid suffers too. What more of deterant is that!
5) no warning flags... If it was bad enough for a warning it's bad enough for a black. If it was very minor a quiet word after is better.
6) reduce track run off - put the skill back into driving...(harder as tracks aren't run just for Msa)
7) relax rules on air boxes radiators etc. get some variety back in karting. Sealing for warranties only, let those that can maintain their engines. Allow removal of material as long as it's within fiche.. Will make engines more equal and stop the huge monopoly on barrels in Rotax.
If you look on Facebook Msa you will see standing starts is not good. And people with experience are saying the bodywork is the main issue! Your losing out to sim racing and other sports as it's now too safe and too expensive. People want excitement. And with standing starts it will be as much of a buzz as watching Towie.
