how about this.... thats why they have available cameras mounted on the karts, so you can review the evidence, load up or loaded up and pushed on, end of heat, video reviewed and action taken. There is plenty of data available, from timing to show your position and karts around you, camera evidence, witness from spotters ect. It wouldn't take much to review two cameras to show you either pushed or were pushed, guilty until proven innocent. exclusion or start from the back.
i can say for sure standing starts wont change a thing, we used to do them in non msa at warden law, run by msa officials in there spare time and they still all reach the first corner in a bunch, you always get some that try to get that extra length and win the race on the first lap :p
its contact full stop that needs enforced, its possible to race close without touching, if you cant get by cleanly then you dont deserve to win! harsh but true.
as for the starts, its kart racing not dodgem cars, if it comes down to the fact that you are hedging bets on making places up on the first corner because of people taking each other out (and it does) then there is no answer, just accept it and manage it as it is. just enforce any contact after the first corner. most of what you read on here are gripes about what this one done or that teams done, harsher penalties for offenders will curb it and we can all get back to what we love, i dont think it will scare people away from the sport, its this goin on that P@@s people off who end up leaving.
