The awarding of championship points for 'visitors' is a difficult one but if those visitors were actually racing regularly then even though your child may usually be in the top three, they would probably drop down the order if those 'visitors' were of a higher ability.
I accept it does seem unfair but your children obviously enjoy mixing it with the visitors so let them have their head.
They know what they want and they know the risks better than you, even though ' Mum knows best'. :)
Maybe if the club members made more effort to welcome the visitors, and I'm not saying you don't do that anyway, perhaps the friendly club atmosphere would shine through more from both sides.
You have to remember some of these kids are pushed relentlessly by their team/parents and I've often sat behind an awning with an upset cadet driver who has been bawled out by their Father and been told by them 'he's always like that but I'm used to it, don't say anything'.
They don't mind they knocks on the track but the knocks from the parents can hurt.
A bit sad really, they'd be happier kicking a tin can along the road.
