In our first season in Honda cadets doing 1 club meeting per month I reckon it's going to cost around 10k or 1000 per meeting. I should point out this includes a kart, 2x engines, race entries, fuel, tyres, engine work, chassis work, an awning, race clothes (helmet, suit, boots, rib protector) a van which only gets used for karting, van insurance, van tax, fuel to and from the circuit but doesn't include damaged parts. We run dad and lad so no team or mechanic costs. Next year (hopefully) a lot of those one off purchase costs can be avoided and I'm hoping we can do it for more like 250 per meeting and do 2 meetings per month. I've no idea how this compares to others but if you were only to turn up and drive, is fks really so expensive? Someone has to meet the above costs and I reckon there are quite a few bits I've failed to account for when dealing with a large scale operation. I can never work out how some people claim to race on some of the numbers I've heard quoted.
