From what I understand it was a piston modification but not the one described in the recent bulletin. I personally saw a junior piston in a sealed bag in the scrutineers office so I would say that was the reason. A real shame for Kyle and I am sure after all the fuss in the last few weeks they would never have knowingly signed on an illegal engine particularly after their other recent experiences.
In my view after speaking to various people who have been caught up in this tranche of illegal engine mods, I think Talko might have to make an exception in their self regulation in this case and share who the builder is with their customers to protect the majority as there appears to be a variety of mods carried and some very upset drivers and parents. At least that way if you have ever used that particular builder it is your choice if you have someone else inspect it and verify it is legal.
