Chris.... Ahhhhhh...... Dartford were often thought of as being the 'Woolworths' end of karting being famed for their 'low prices'. So, not only were they quick but they were generally thought of as CHEAP.
Having said that, I used to use Simon Wright and he was never 'cheap' but was (and is) totally reliable, trustworthy and damned good, too. The price wasn't hugely higher, anyway.
If the comments above are anything to go on, then it sounds about �150 is enough to improve the engine. However, if it added (let's guess) �500 to the engine cost for blueprinting, that would STILL be cheaper than buying one of these 'selected' motors (i.e., a QUICK one).
Yes, people can go bonkers and spend their life savings on their engine, it just rarely makes them quicker than something well 'blueprinted'.... if the users want to stay within the rules, that is.
