Machines were mice and men were lions once upon a time. But now that its the opposite its twice upon a time.
Blokes played with things and experimented, now some can't even wield a spanner.
So now we walk down a line of boring Honda, Rotax or FB engines.
You used to be able to walk down a grid and see a different engine or variant thereof on every kart.
There was something to look at, talk about or listen to.
At least the X30 has given us a bit of interest and a little freedom from the dreaded seal which is akin to looking under a BMW bonnet and seeing nothing you can play with.
That's why everyone who tries it doesn't't go back to Rotax.
With the X30 you are not stuck with an inanimate obelisk, you can get to any part yourself.
I do not think utter reliability is a key factor, it's more exciting for everyone if it's a "will it, won't it" make the finish line.
Not so much Rotax EVO as Rotax heave ho, make way for the X30.
I see the NkRA have yet to realise the X30 is here, must be on another Planet Karting :).
