Hi all,
I have had 100cc, prokarts and rotax max snr for owner driver practice when i was younger. having sold them all to afford my first car almost 10years ago i am now looking to get back into the scene. i recently bought a gearbox kart but have found it too much hard work for the short circuits i will be using (rye house, bayford meadows, lydd). I had decided to sell it and buy another Max but having been to the track a couple times i have been informed about formula blue and x30. I have seen some forumla blues keeping up with maxs, i understand it was more down to driver skill but i still thought this was impressive. With this in mind, what reasons would you choose a formula blue over a max? i.e...ease of formula blue maintenance due to unsealed engine etc, cheaper karts and race class etc?. wanting one of the faster karts on the circuit i still feel rotax max snr is best for me as i will only be using for it practice to begin with. however, i have seen vortex and leopard 125s which i understand are also unsealed. how do these engines perform? are they reliable? then to top it off i have seen the x30 karts which i understand are fairly new and have some issues which need ironing out. i hope to get out most weekends for practice and if my times are still any good i may look at starting a race class. maybe ikr?..as its cheap?..and no medical needed? When i left karting the track was full of maxs, i now see lots of other similar options. i would be grateful for any info any1 might have. thanks alot guys shaun
