Hi all, I hope someone can help.
We used to race a little from time to time a couple of years back in our zip storm/comer w60 but due to a change in fortunes stopped racing and now just attend open practice at Whilton from time to time for a bit of pleasure. We were going to go today but when we prepped the kart it wouldn't start because there is no spark. When we went last time he was complaining the engine was cutting out and it eventually stopped. The way he described it sounded like a fuel problem, like a blocked filter or sticky jet. I've done the obvious like change the plug and check the switch works but no luck. I guess either the cable is broken, the coil has gone or maybe the electronic unit. I can't check any of those things because I can't remove the flywheel.
I spoke to zip but the parts are much more than I'd like to spend on such an old engine, even the flywheel extractor is a few quid.
The reason for posting is two fold really, firstly has anyone got any experience with what is the most likely fault here? and secondly has anyone got any ignition spares in the back of the garage from your own Comer days you want rid of cheap?
Thanks, Stefan
